As our Director of Communications, you will seek and pursue global opportunities to influence and respond to developments to strengthen ProVeg’s presence as an international food awareness organisation. Using an evidence-based approach and real-life stories you will inform, inspire, and influence a changing food system. You will position ProVeg as a multi-problem solution solver within the ecosystem of plant-based, fermented and cultivated food. You will work with NGOs, companies, food-service providers, startups, investors, policy advocates, the public, and many others. This exciting opportunity calls for an inspiring, effective, and innovative communications professional who relishes the chance to positively ruffle some (vegan) feathers.

Obowiązki

  • Develop and oversee an effective communications strategy, influencing approach, and setting objectives and key results (OKRs)

  • Be accountable for the development, delivery, and evaluation of the organisation’s communications activities.
  • Secure media opportunities for the Global CEO and Senior Leadership team.
  • Increase ProVeg International’s visibility and profile, enhance the organisation’s credibility and inspire supporters and other stakeholders through the use of engaging external communications.
  • Communicate the organisation’s achievements in an engaging and inspiring way
  • Together with the Digital Director, be the guardian of the organisation’s reputation, overseeing and managing the development of crisis communications plans and advising on pertinent and emerging issues.
  • Monitor internal and external developments that might result in risks and opportunities, generally supporting the global alternative protein movement, and develop plans for key activities.
  • Oversee and ensure the management of positive relationships with the media and regional, national, and international change agents, including influencers and relevant colleagues in similar organisations.
  • Model excellence in (remote) team management by motivating, coaching, giving, and receiving feedback, supporting and developing teams and skills (hosting team meetings and stand-ups, conducting evaluation meetings) and driving innovation and creativity.
  • Identify areas for driving change and process improvement to ensure effective management, best practice and accountability across the team.
  • Develop and manage a Communications budget, and report to the Global CEO and other stakeholders to explain performance set against KPIs and the broader strategic plan.
  • Work with the Global CEO, the Institutional and Corporate Engagement, Research, Incubator, the EU and UN Public Affairs, and Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact teams in order to plan and deliver public-facing and policy-influencing campaigns.

  • Maintain close working relationships with the Senior Leadership Team and Country Directors, and support their ability to deliver strategies and plans.

Wymagania

Required:

  • An excellent understanding of the plant-based and alternative protein sector and knowledge of food systems change.
  • A successful track record in professional communications, marketing, or campaigning, developing and delivering strategic objectives across a range of communications channels.
  • Strong experience of driving social media engagement and growth, marketing and/or organisational branding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English to native level (or C1).
  • Excellent networking skills and experience in building productive relationships with key media stakeholders and influencers.
  • An understanding of and appetite for quantitative and qualitative evidence.
  • A commitment to ProVeg’s values and guiding principles.
  • A dynamic and inspirational leadership style.

Preferred:

  • A good understanding of data protection issues, including GDPR
  • Experience of a range of visual communication methods (video, TV, infographics, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of the third sector.
  • Understanding and/or experience of policy processes and advocacy.
