Obowiązki

Main Purpose:

Supporting the Head of Mission (HoM) in Networking management, coordination and Advocacy tasks, ensuring a smooth relation with local and national authorities and partners, contributing to the context analysis and follow-up, providing translations and interpretations according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures, in order to facilitate the mission coordination tasks, and ensure elaboration and implementation of Advocacy strategy.

Main Accountabilities:

• Supporting the HoM in promoting and protecting the MSF image externally and assisting in context analysis, disseminating relevant context information to the coordination team, regularly informing them on key issues, updating general information on the context for MSF internal documents

• Together with the HoM and field teams, analyzing the risks and the security level of the context of the mission and assisting in conducting risk assessments

• Establishing and maintaining external relationships with relevant authorities and stakeholders.

• Ensuring the follow up of relevant administrative dossiers such as the MSF registration in the country, working permits, immigration policies, national protocols, etc.

• Translating sensitive documents and acting as an interpreter when needed. Writing letters and correspondences with officials and partners and preparing reports, internal memos and formal requests.

• Assisting in the elaboration of the advocacy plan of the mission in collaboration with the Medical Coordinator and the Communications responsible, and supporting its implementation and follow up

• Perform data collection and research concerning local and international context, with regards to security, medical, policies and humanitarian issues, in order to provide reliable information for further decision-making.

• Support the Head of Mission and Medco in the analysis of the data collected, in order to better orientate the programmes and projects, to provide an optimal response to beneficiaries needs.

• Compile regular updates of the ongoing (inter-)national activities and plans of NGOs, UN, ICRC, donors, authorities and other actors on lobby, policy and operational plans and initiatives in order to adequate MSF ’s activities and objectives.

• Collaborate with the HoM, the Advocacy Referent and Operational/Humanitarian Affairs Department at HQ and other relevant parties to develop a coherent global strategy, in order to address the humanitarian situation.

• Define and review messages, tools, lobbying activities and other advocacy action plans and strategies, in order to raise all humanitarian issues in the mission and seek assistance and protection to affected population.

Wymagania

Education

• University degree or similar level of education in a relevant field (Humanitarian Affairs, Political sciences, International relations, Communication, Public Health…)

Experience

• Experience in humanitarian aid, preferably within MSF. Essential strong understanding of the workings of the different administrations of the country

• Experience working in political, security and humanitarian issues in the country

• Experience working in Advocacy in the field of humanitarian issues

Language: Polish, English mandatory (at least C1)

Computer knowledge: Good proficiency with Windows package, ability to write reports and presentations

Personal skills: Diplomacy, flexibility, problem solving attitude, analytical mindset, Teamwork commitment, high level of confidentiality

Assets: Driving licence, knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Russian

Workplace: Warsaw, with regular travels in Poland

Desired date of start: August 2023

Initial contract: until 31st December 2023, with possible extension

Job dimension: Full time
