We are seeking a talented and passionate PR Coordinator to join our international communication team. As a PR Coordinator, you will play a vital role in shaping and implementing our organisation's communication strategies and activities. Your primary objective will be to raise awareness of our mission, promote our initiatives, and engage key stakeholders through effective public relations efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a transformative movement that seeks to address pressing global challenges related to food production, sustainability, and social equity.
Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a dynamic and skilled PR professional who possesses a deep understanding of communications, media relations, and the global food landscape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public relations, preferably within the non-profit sector or a related field. You should be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with diverse stakeholders and engaging the public effectively. A passion for sustainable food systems and the plant-based food and wider alt protein movement is essential for success in this role.

Obowiązki

  • Support the communication team in developing and implementing comprehensive PR strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of our organisation and its food system transformation initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers, and relevant stakeholders to secure coverage and maximise positive exposure.
  • Create compelling press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to effectively communicate our mission, projects, and impact.
  • Monitor media coverage and public sentiment related to food system issues, identifying opportunities to respond, shape narratives, and provide timely information.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across various communication channels, including website content, social media, and newsletters.
  • Support organisation and coordination of media events, press conferences, and interviews, ensuring smooth logistics and maximising media attendance.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organisation, representing our mission, values, and initiatives to the media and the public.
  • Support measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of PR campaigns, providing reports and analysis to inform future strategies and activities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging platforms in public relations and utilise this knowledge to drive innovation in our communication efforts.

So, a typical workday would include many of the following tasks:

Daily review of news and trends

  • Monitoring through Google alerts/other sources
  • SoMe channels
  • Relevant industry newsletters

Research - Build up PV-specific media db (story by story)

  • On media outlets
  • Individual journalists
  • Topic-related contacts (for targeting)
  • Country-specific research re media outlets/journalists

Conduct research and draft press releases

Distribution & outreach

  • Uploading onto our media distribution database
  • Draft personalized emails to journalists
  • Draft posts for SoMe channels
  • Update organization website
  • Notify various country teams

Collaboration

  • Participate in internal and external meetings
  • Keep relevant teams informed on developments

Monitoring & Tracking

  • Ensure updates to internal tracking tools
  • Follow up on performance of releases, push for further coverage

Wymagania

Required:

  • Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum of 2 years) as a journalist or in public relations, media relations, or communications, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and adapt messaging for different audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with media professionals, stakeholders, and diverse audiences.
  • Experience in crafting and implementing PR strategies that deliver measurable results.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring and analytics tools to track coverage and evaluate impact.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curiosity, a ‘nose for a great news story’, and an ambitious mindset

Desirable:

  • Experience working in an international setting or with global stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of sustainable food systems, environmental issues, and the plant-based (and alt protein) movement, and a passion for driving positive change in these areas.
  • Experience in crisis communications and issues management.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and social media management.
  • Understanding of branding and messaging for non-profit organisations.

JOB DETAILS

Reports to: International Senior PR Manager

Department: International Communications

Location: Remote (ideally, UK, NL, DE, PL, ES, CZ, ZA or US)

Hours: 32-40 hours per week

Salary: commensurate with experience and location, e.g. in the UK £31,000 - 35,000 for a full-time role (40h).
