Medical Translator (English into German)

Taking care of the translation quality

Translations are crucial for our products to work properly. Users rely on these translations when they describe symptoms and when they make healthcare decisions. Right now, we support 20+ languages, and we are continuously adding new ones.

Working with a medical database

You will be translating and localizing our medical content, i.e., symptoms, conditions, risk factors, diagnostic questions, and more. You will also be responsible for translating apps and product descriptions.

Translating medical content

You will be applying your in-depth medical knowledge to translate medical terminology and your language skills to write content that people understand. You will make sure that your translations are accurate and clear for both doctors and ordinary people without medical background. Finally, you will be identifying and addressing linguistic issues.

Experience

• At least 5 years of proven experience in medical translations; medical background (a medical student, a graduate, or a doctor) will be considered an asset.

Knowledge / Skills

• Native fluency in German and working proficiency in English
• Excellent writing skills
• Ability to describe complex topics with simplicity and clarity
• Ability to deliver on a tight schedule
• Ability to work independently

Nice to have

• Experience in translating User Interface will be considered an important asset
• Familiarity with and an understanding of the Plain Language concept will be a plus
• Experience with CAT tools and translation QA tools will be a plus
