This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager to contribute to ClientEarth’s work in Europe. The Programme Manager will use their experience of project management, partner engagement and monitoring, evaluation and learning to facilitate strategic decision-making and the smooth delivery of our programmes.

ClientEarth works to achieve systemic change at scale in energy systems, food systems, ocean and land use and transport and materials systems. We aim to drive systems change through litigation, advocacy and influencing, and building the environmental public interest law field. We do this in collaboration with our partners, who represent diverse expertise, communities and experiences and include NGOs, law firms, scientific, technical and industry experts and individuals. ClientEarth has adopted a new matrix operating model, with different areas of expertise/skillsets mobilised into networks and teams to deliver work to achieve maximum impact towards our strategic objectives. The post holder will join the Programme Management Group, a new position within a new team at ClientEarth, created to provide comprehensive programme management across programme areas. The Programme Manager, will play a key role facilitating cross-functional working within ClientEarth’s new matrix operating model, while ensuring projects are delivered in a cost, time, and resource efficient way.

Main Duties
  • Work collaboratively across European programmes to foster and create an effective and efficient programme management culture and embed best practices to support the optimal delivery of strategic initiatives.  
  • Maintain oversight of a mixed funding portfolio from trusts, foundations and institutional donors, and plan and track deliverables, and ensure adherence to funding requirements.
  • Work with colleagues across programmes and the Impact and Learning team, on the development, management and review of tools for monitoring and evaluation of projects and embed a culture of continuous learning.
  • Support ClientEarth’s relationships with diverse partners in Europe, ensuring best practice in partner engagement.  

Wymagania

Role requirements
  • Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English
  • Experience of programme management for large complex programmes in the NGO/not-for-profit sector, with substantial budgets (six-seven figure) and diverse stakeholders inside and outside an organisation
  • Experience of day-to-day line management of a small team, including remotely and providing guidance and development opportunities to team members
  • Experience of leading or facilitating monitoring, evaluation and learning for large and complex projects in the NGO/not-for-profit sector
  • The ability to embrace change and lead others through change
