The Public Engagement Manager for Region North East is a position within the Belgium-based Public Engagement team, based in the EIT Food North East office.

The selected candidate will lead the development of the public engagement functional area in the region.

This Manager will report to the Director of Region North East with a dotted line to the Director of Public Engagement.

As a Public Engagement Manager, your specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

As part of the Public Engagement team, deliver on EIT Food's public engagement strategy and programmes in region North and East.
Inform, connect and liaise with local participants/hubs to ensure effective implementation and/or integration into Public Engagement programmes.
Project Management for specific programmes in the Public Engagement area (e.g. the FoodEducators, EIT Food RIS Consumer Engagement Lab), including managing partner implementation, monitoring, reporting and supervising delivery with respect to expected outcomes and KPIs.
Ensure compliance of functional area activities from an operational perspective, e.g. with EIT and EU rules.
Support the wider EIT Food ecosystem by liaising with Key Account Managers and Ecosystem Managers in the region and across regions about the Public Engagement portfolio, and support business development for Public Engagement Programmes and services in the region.
Develop the portfolio of activities of the area in consultation with the participating partners. Contribute to EIT Food processes, especially calls and reporting processes.
Liaise with EU, national and local programmes to obtain synergies, cofunding and complementary funding.

Wymagania

  • You have relevant working experience in the area of public engagement, science communication and outreach programmes preferably in the food sector (minimum 5 years).
  • You have a degree in science communication, social sciences, political or economic sciences.
  • You have demonstrated your ability to work collaboratively in multinational teams, contributing to the success of the team.
  • You have proven ability to work independently.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are fluent in English (both spoken and written) and preferably another European language.
  • Familiarity with Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe project administration is desirable.
  • You have expertise in the field of food.
  • You have experience in project management and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • You have experience with compliance monitoring and assessing performance metrics.
